Battle Fuel XT is rated among the top 50 products at BodyBuilding.com. And its company, Muscle Pharm, was awarded Brand of the Year in 2012 by BodyBuilding.com as well.

Battle Fuel XT seems to have everything going for it. But does its performance as a testosterone supplement live up to its reputation?

Who Is Muscle Pharm?

Muscle Pharm is led by former athletes with the goal that their products be safe and effective for today’s athletes.

“Athletes shape the MusclePharm vision,” CEO Brad Pyatt told ProSource.net. “It’s that simple.”

And that mission statement seems to be working for them. Not only is Battle Fuel XT highly ranked on BodyBuilding.com, but many other Muscle Pharm products enjoy high ratings as well.

Battle Fuel XT Ingredients

So what’s actually in this testosterone supplement? Besides vitamins and minerals, four categories, or stages, fuel Battle Fuel XT’s success:
• Testosterone Amplifier
• Testosterone Activator
• Testosterone Muscle Growth Complex
• Anti-Aromatase and Estrogen Suppression Matrix

It seems like Battle Fuel XT certainly has its testosterone bases covered. But let’s see if individual ingredients have what it takes.

Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamin D (600 IU). Vitamin D promotes calcium absorption, improves bone strength, and improves immune function. This helps athletes stay strong during workouts and suffer fewer injuries.

Magnesium (225 mg). Magnesium maintains muscle and nerve function along with heart rhythm and immune system health. It’s also involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis.

Zinc (4 mg). Zinc could improve male fertility and athletic performance. It does so by promoting protein synthesis and immune function.

Advanced Four Stage Testosterone System (6,226 mg)

Stage One: Testosterone Amplifier

D-Aspartic Acid (3000 mg). This amino acid contributes to the metabolism of other amino acids, all of which are necessary to build and sustain muscle. Aspartic acid also stimulates the release of sex hormones including testosterone.

Mucuna Pruriens. Mucuna pruriens’ l-dopa content converts into the hormone dopamine. Healthy dopamine levels increase sexual function by enhancing a hormone that stimulates sexual organs. However, high dopamine is associated with unwanted sexual behaviors, such as addiction, fetishes, and unhealthy risk taking.

Astaracantha Longifolia Aquatic Extract. Preliminary studies with rodents have shown promise in this herb’s ability to raise sperm content and increase sexual behavior. But results are not yet proven in humans.

Stage Two: Testosterone Activator

N-Acetyl Carnitine. This amino acid is an important building block of muscle protein. N-acetyl carnitine is a form of l-carnitine made readily available for use in supplements.

Anacyclus Pyrethrum. The roots of this herb have aphrodisiac qualities. It shows promise in raising testosterone and increasing sperm count.

Curculigo Orchioides. Treating sexual dysfunction due to hyperglycemia is an interesting function of this flowering plant. In one study, it preserved sexual function in hyperglycemic male rats. [1]

Stage Three: Testosterone Muscle Growth Complex

Suma Extract. This plant helps the body adapt to stress, thereby treating male sexual performance and even increasing sexual desire.

Maca. Though maca increases sperm production and motility and even sexual desire, it is not proven to raise testosterone.

Propionyl Carnitine. Like curculigo, propionyl carnitine treats sexual dysfunction due to hyperglycemia or other diabetes characteristics. It’s also used as a treatment to raise testosterone.

Stage Four: Anti-Aromatase and Estrogen Suppression Matrix

Indole-3-Carbinol. This substance balances hormone levels, lessening estrogen and leading to increased testosterone.

DIM (Diindolylmethane). Derived from indole-3-carbinol, DIM may also block estrogen’s effects and thereby raise testosterone.

Battle Fuel XT Side Effects

Due to the natural ingredients in Battle Fuel XT, side effects are rare. It may cause minor side effects such as nausea or chest pain, however.

Taking Battle Fuel XT

Take 4 capsules in the morning and 4 capsules mid-afternoon or before exercise. For best results, use for 8 weeks, followed by a 5 to 7 day off period.

Battle Fuel XT Prices

You can purchase Battle Fuel XT for the following prices:
• $38.99: MusclePharm.com
• $34.47: BodyBuilding.com
• $29.95: Amazon.com

A 160-capsule container will last you just 20 days, so you’ll need almost three bottles to take Battle Fuel XT for the recommended eight week period.

Battle Fuel XT: A Battle Won?

So how does Battle Fuel XT rate on the battle field? Users at BodyBuilding.com loved it; in fact, most gave it a rating of 10/10. Johnnyp135 said, “Bigger gains than I have ever seen.”

Nevertheless, Battle Fuel XT may be a bit pricey for the recommended dose. Although it has exceptional ratings, many may pay a higher price for Battle Fuel XT simply because it is a popular name. You can find similar formulas for a lower price elsewhere.
